  3. Mian Huang will start his PhD study in January 2018. He will work on fibre-reinforced soils.
  4. Our KTP project report (rock catch fences) has been awarded 'outstanding' grade (the top grade) by Innovate UK (28 Nov 2017).KTP Grade
  5. Zhiwei has secured funding from Construction Scotland Innovation Center (CSIC) and QTS Group Ltd to develop smart rock catch fences (May 2017).
  6. Dr. Hassan Al-Budairi has been appointed as the Knowledge Transfer Associate for the KTP project with QTS (May, 2015).
  7. The KTP (Knowledge Transfer Partnership) project 'development of an effective and cost-efficient catch fence design' has been approved (12 December 2014).
  8. Zhiwei gave a invited talk on his recent research in the School of Engineering and Computing Sciences at Durham University on 12 November 2014. The presentation title was 'Constitutive modelling of the anisotropic behaviour of geomaterials: the role of fabric'.
  9. Mr. Sangeet Patra joined our research group in September 2014. He is working on the project 'Suction caisson foundations: Numerical simulation for more cost-efficient and safer design.'
  10. Zhiwei did an oral presentation on his research on constitutive modelling of anisotropic sand behaviour and acted as a session leader at IS-Cambridge 2014 (September 2014, University of Cambridge).
  11. Zhiwei visited The Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research and Beihang University in Beijing China.
  12. Zhiwei presented his research on fabric effect on strain localization in sand at the 10th International Workshop on Bifurcation and Degradation in Geomaterials (May 2014, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University).
  13. Mr. Sangeet Patra was awarded the James Watt Scholarship in June 2014.
  14. Zhiwei joined the University of Glasgow as a Lecturer in Geotechnical Engineering on 3 July, 2013.
